Page 1 of 2 General Membership: Membership of the Party shall be open to any citizen of Ghana who is eighteen years of age or above and who accepts the aims and objectives of the Party, provided that such person is not a member of any other political party or any organisation whose policies are inconsistent with those of the Party. Every application for membership shall be vetted by the branch Executive Committee. Where an application is refused the applicant may of right appeal to the Regional Executive Committee. Upon enrolment, every member shall be issued with a Membership and Dues Card. Admission Fee and Membership Dues - The admission fee shall be as determined from time to time by the National Congress of the Party.
- Each member of the Party shall pay dues as determined from time to time by the National Congress.
Rights and Privileges: It is the right of a Party member: - To vote at elections and to be elected to office in any of the Party organ
- To address any question or statement to any Party organ, or official;
- To be given a hearing whenever adverse decisions are likely to be taken regarding his or her activities or conduct;
- To appeal against any adverse decision against him or her by a Branch through the Constituency and Regional Organs to the National Organ;
- To Petition as a last resort to the National Party Congress; and no member of the Party shall initiate or commence any legal action against the Party without first having exhausted the provisions in this Constitution and other regulations for addressing grievances.
Appeals and Petition: - Any member of a Branch of the Party who is aggrieved by any decision of or sanction imposed on him or her by the branch organ may appeal in writing to the Central Committee whose decision shall be final so however that the appellant may petition in writing to the National Executive Council and ultimately to the Party National Congress for a review of his or her case.
- Any member of the Party who is dissatisfied with a decision or sanction imposed on him or her by a Regional Executive Committee of the Party in exercise of its disciplinary authority under Article 38(h) may appeal in writing to the National Disciplinary Committee under Article 76(c) through the next higher organ.
- A candidate for Parliamentary election whose candidature is not approved by the Central Committee may appeal in writing to the National Executive Council whose decision shall be subject to a petition in writing to the National Executive Council and ultimately to the Party National Congress which shall finally dispose of the issue.
- Notwithstanding the provisions under this Article, any organ or member of the Party dissatisfied with any decision or sanction imposed on him or her as under this Article or any other provisions of this Constitution or rules and regulations or who claims to be affected in any reasonable manner by any act of commission or omission by the Party may in the last resort after the appeals and petitions provided under this Article have not redressed his or her grievance, petition in writing to the Council of Elders by virtue of Article 46 (f) (i), (ii) and (iii) for ultimate review of his or her case and the decision of the Council shall finally conclude the process of redressing grievances under this Constitution.
